What's a Writer? Part 6

What’s your style?

Covered a great deal of this in my Start to Finish article series so I’ll keep it short. If you typed in style to Thesaurus.com, you’d find an abundance of adjectives for the word style. Any of these could describe what you consider when you think about what your style is but, genre is the adjective most often referred to. I would relate mine more toward spirit, way, or variety, because even if I’m writing fantasy I don’t like being stuck in that genre alone. I like to mix genres together, for me it makes the story easier to write when I don’t have walls to maintain…just continuity. We all have a writing style and it’s especially vital to your work as an aspiring writer to figure out what it is, as you write because how else will you find out if you’re not doing it?
